Importance of Car Security Alarms

January 22nd, 2012

The concept of car security is new, but it justifies its requirement. Cars are available in top end models, sedans, hunchbacks and even lower range economy models. Have you ever wondered as to why people prefer sedans and top end models when economy solve the same purpose in 1/10 th of the investment? The reason is that people relate cars to pride.

Your home doesn’t move with you, but your car has to be parked according to the circumstances. Would you leave your car which you have bought with your hard earned money without security? People do and pay the price. Music systems, logos and in worse cases the entire car is stolen within a few minutes.

You might park your car just to drop your little ones at their school and the next moment your car disappears. This is not a film plot, but a true sequence. People do check if doors of their cars are properly locked but what more do they do? Nothing, you cannot ride your luck everyday. They say, thieves think a step ahead. Many cars do not come with any inbuilt systems or at the most have an average security which thieves have mastered by now.

The best solution here is to check your requirement, collect information about car security systems and invest in one, after due consultations with some experts. security work in many different ways.

Some basic car systems available now days are as follows:

Car lock alarm
Steering wheel alarm
Motion sensors
Finger print security
Electronic door locks

Some systems have built-in sirens for protection and some have systems which intimate the nearest police station in case any attempt is made to get into your car with mechanical instruments. Such is the effect of better systems that thieves give such cars a miss. Like home systems, car security alarms work in many ways but the basic purpose remains the same – security. systems can be molded to fit into any car and can be customized as per your requirements.

As you have invested thousands of dollars of your dream machine, getting a decent car system is not a bad idea.

Deciding Between Aftermarket, OEM and Genuine Auto Parts

January 10th, 2012

Aftermarket, OEM, or genuine auto parts… you’re confused about what to choose. If that’s you, read the following.

Cheaper doesn’t always mean inferior. Such is the case with aftermarket and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) car parts. While they are often up to 70% cheaper than genuine parts, they can be far superior in quality.

Like many car owners and car parts buyers out there, I must say that I once thought that the genuine parts sold by my local automotive dealer were better. Well surprisingly, this is far removed from the truth. Do you think that car makers make their own parts? They certainly don’t. They would probably like you to think so but this isn’t the case.

OEM parts are made by the same manufacturer as the genuine part you would receive from your local dealer. In other words, it’s really the same part. The only difference is the logo on the box.

Here’s what happens. Car makers use outside independent companies to help them design their parts. But after a certain time frame the actual manufacturers of these parts are allowed to sell them to other wholesale distributors for resale. This time they come with the manufacturer’s logo and not that of the car maker. So essentially, the identical part is now referred to as an OEM part.

How about aftermarket parts? Are they inferior to genuine parts? …

Although aftermarket car parts are not made by the original manufacturer, they perform as well as the original. In many cases, the companies find a way of improving these parts so that the customer gets a part that is of superior quality.

There is no need for concern. Aftermarket car parts are produced with the same machinery and materials as OEM and genuine parts. While the parts may have a few minor differences in look and feel, they basically do the same job. The companies who manufacture these aftermarket auto parts are credible. They legitimately buy the rights to manufacture those parts.

You can order aftermarket and OEM car parts online today. It’s easy. It’s a great way to save money. Furthermore, you can have peace of mind, knowing that you’re not compromising quality.

January 3rd, 2012

When people hear of Auto Parts Warehouse coupons they never think of the fact that they have any disadvantages. This is because a lot of people just focus on the advantages and never take any of their time to look at the disadvantages of the same. In fact, people just look at the fact that one has an opportunity of making some savings with the coupons, that one has the chance to plan for the same and many other advantages. In this article, I would like to pay some close attention to the disadvantages of the Auto Parts Warehouse coupons, and also look at some of the ways in which you and I can be able to deal with these disadvantages so that we can end up overcoming them.

Lack Of Self Control

Well, I cannot really say that using the Auto Parts Warehouse coupons for a long time can cause one to develop a lack of self control, but I can surely say that this is something that can easily be exploited by these in the process. For example, when you want to buy some things for your car, you probably have an idea of what exactly is wrong in your car and how you should deal with it. However, once you go to their website and see the amount of discounts that are being offered at that particular time, you will end up realizing the fact that you “need” all the spare parts that are available for sale. At the end of the day, you will find yourself spending money that you do not have. To overcome this, it is advisable that you avoid making your purchases through your debit card and not credit card.

Delays In Purchases

As you probably know already, there are very many times when the amount of discounts that you will receive, are far much more in particular seasons than others. If therefore you are waiting for a particular holiday such as Independence Day, then you can be sure that you will wait for some time so as to get the best deal. If you end up doing this a number of times, you can easily find yourself in a situation whereby you end up delaying your projects every now and then. To overcome this challenge, it is advisable that you set up a deadline for yourself so that you can make sure that you do not spend so much time on waiting.

HHO Gas Car Conversion – The Only Way To Save Money?

December 28th, 2011

Is the HHO gas Car Conversion the only way to save money? Frankly speaking, no there are other ways to save money, which is taking public transportation but I am sure you are not looking for this solution. If you are not then run you car on water is the way to increase your car mileage and save hundreds each month, how to build the Hydrogen generator?

Before knowing how, it would be better if you understand about HHO gas car conversion system. You do not have to worry because you will not see any complex chemical reaction like what you saw when you were at school.

With this concept you are about to combine two sources of power into your car, one is gasoline system and the second is the HHO gas system. In this way you are functioning both of the source at the ratio of 50-50. This is how you can increase your gas mileage and reduce car emission.

The concept/system, which is also known as hydrogen on demand, uses the process of electrolysis to emit the hydroxy; HHO gas (a.k.a browns gas). This gas will be introduced then to the airflow in the intake manifold using the engine vacuum. It will be mixed with gasoline that will improve gas mileage.

Building Hydrogen fuel cell generator kit is simple if you have the right guide to follow. If you are a technician, you would probably want to search the information on the forums. If you are not one like me, you should probably save your time as reading those technical stuffs with no picture will give you a headache.

You can actually buy the kit that is already build for you for thousands of dollars. But I believe that will be the last resort.
If you are looking for a better, easy, and affordable way, you have to do yourself a favor by getting an easy to understand and to follow “how to” e-Book guide that will also give you the list of all the stuffs you need for less than $150.

Have Discount Auto Parts and Dollars Store Stocks Run Their Course?

December 26th, 2011

During the 2008-2009 US recession folks were amazed how well a few retail sectors had done when all the other companies were tanking. How is it possible that auto parts retail chain stocks were not crushed as all the other retail stocks were in the proverbial toilet? Now it has always been said in the automotive industry that during hard economic times, folks do not go out to buy new cars and therefore they are forced to keep their old cars and fix them up.

It thus, stands to reason that discount auto parts are a natural and perhaps somewhat recession proof. That does not mean they are going to break any speed records rather merely that they can survive without taking the huge hit in sales. Still, is this a reason for the stock to jump 350%? No, the answer is no, instead they just should not go down like the others. So, why the flight to these so-called recession proof, really recession resistant, stocks?

The next interesting and perhaps also predictable recession resistant stock is that of the Dollar Store type businesses. Still during this last recession the stock prices rose on some of these companies by 200%, and yet Wal-Mart, which is an extremely well-run company, was flat, stock price actually down a little in fact, so one has to ask why?

With this in mind one would have to say that these stocks have run their course and it’s time for anyone who rode them up, to take their profit now and get into more solid companies with a long-term mind set. Consider all this.

Auto Parts, The Pros and Cons

December 20th, 2011

Auto Parts, is a collective term that is used to describe the components of an automobile. These parts, can either be supplied by the original equipment manufacturer of a particular vehicle, or an entirely independent engineering firm that specializes in the manufacture of mechanical parts for various makes and models of autos.

Motor vehicles are so affordable these days that most auto owners trade their vehicles every two or maybe three years. The upside of this practice is that commuters have a modern, reliable mode of transport, they keep abreast of the latest technology and their vehicles seldom, if ever, require spare parts.

Auto parts are quite expensive, particularly genuine OEM parts, and there are other costs to consider such as, workshop charges as well as alternative transport costs while the auto is being repaired. Even if the repair work is be performed by the auto’s owner, there is still the cost of time and inconvenience that must be considered.

The advantages of having replacement auto parts fitted by a mechanic at a workshop, apart from the fact that you, the auto owner, won’t get dirty hands, is that the work is done by a professional, is fully guaranteed and your time can be spent more productively. The only disadvantage being the cost of auto parts, particularly if your repairer uses genuine OEM parts, then you will be paying top dollar for the parts.

Auto owners that are fortunate enough to have a degree of mechanical knowledge and a workshop equipped with the necessary tools to carry out repair work, can save quite a deal of money by purchasing auto parts at the many discount outlets that are available. Apart from auto accessory warehouses, there are other outlets to be found on the Internet such as the many private distributors to be found on Ebay.

There are also many wrecking yards that carry a huge range of second hand auto parts that are favorably priced. Some of these parts are near new, having been gleaned from auto wrecks involving late model autos. If you are a DIY enthusiast, then wrecking yards are the places to look for your replacement auto parts.

There are two trains of thought being presented here.

People that have little mechanical knowledge, or those, whose interests lie in other areas will, naturally, tend to replace their auto regularly in order to have a reliable means of transport, as well as be able to keep up with modern trends. These people will substantially reduce the risk of time consuming breakdowns, loss of income and the added expense of costly repairs.

On the other hand, those people who have the expertise and the facilities to carry out their own repair work at home, can maintain there current model auto for years to come which, will still possess the reliability of the latest model.

People of today are fortunate that auto parts are available.

In past days, when one’s auto broke down the availability of auto parts was limited, it was a case of manufacturing an alternative part or walking away from the vehicle.

In these times, the ultimate cost of parts and repairs, in the case of a breakdown, is minute compared to the spiraling costs of new vehicles.

Imported Auto Parts

December 20th, 2011

Automobiles literally have scores of auto parts (including but not limited to idle stop solenoid, ported thermal vacuum, valves, brakes, head and tail lights, carburetor, engine, and wind shield etc.) that undergo wear and tear everyday. Another important factor negatively impacting both the performance and life span of the auto parts are the (extreme) weather conditions. Although experts suggest using original equipment manufacturer parts, which means that they should either by crafted by your car’s manufacturer or a company contracted by your car’s manufacturer to produce them.

Imported automotive parts are also an option, especially in case of imported automobiles. You can now shop for imported car parts from you’re the comfort of your bedroom. Although car enthusiasts want to replace the imported auto parts themselves to save money, it may not be the best option especially if the installation process is complicated.

Types of car Parts

All imported car parts can be classified into two broad categories;
• New Imported Auto Parts – Brand new automotive parts are very easy to find both online and in the brick and mortar stores. This is especially true for newer models (that are less than five years old) and cars by well known brands. Most well known car manufacturers also offer customers the delivery of new imported parts directly to their door step. However, before ordering new car parts, you should keep in mind various considerations, especially so the price (including shipping costs). Since most car dealerships also offer the option to repair your car, you can also find new imported auto parts in these dealer owned repair shops. In case you have a newer model, it will most likely be less expensive to have the new imported car parts installed in the dealer owned repair shop because in most cases, these require specific tools (or instruments) that may not be available in conventional car repair shops.
• Used and Refurbished Imported Parts – Although finding used and refurbished imported car parts is not entirely impossible, it will require substantially more effort than finding new imported auto parts. However, if you are in luck, the dealer may well have the auto part you are looking for in stock. The probability of dealers having the car parts in stock increases with the criticality of the function it performs. Last but not the least, in case the dealer does not have the imported auto part you are in need for, you can easily find used and refurbished imported parts at your local car repair shop or junk yard. These used and refurbished imported car parts will be available at much lower prices and in most cases perform really well.

Are You Repainting Your Car?

December 18th, 2011

Probably one of the most time-consuming and painstaking things that you will ever do to a car that you care about dearly is repaint it. Even the mere concept of having a vehicle repainted causes people to grit their teeth in fear. The reason is because when vehicles are painted at the factory, it is applied in most cases with a dunk tank. The dunk tank concept takes the empty shell of a body and dips it through multiple steps of liquid material including metal preparation, primer, paint color, and then clearcoat. The latter steps in many cases are applied by robots through a high tech spray gun apparatus.

So when people start talking about repainting their cars they quickly realize that there are going to be places in the vehicle that will never be repainted according to factory specifications. So what happens is people didn’t choose to merely cover the exterior, or visible to the eye areas to bring the paint back to, or as close to it as possible factory look.

However more commonly, repainting of vehicles usually happens in small areas. For example: Collisions are a very common reason why vehicles have to be repainted in small areas. Let’s say that you had a small fender bender and the body shop has since repaired all of the bumpers or metal panels on your vehicle and the time has come for them to now repaint your car. One of the things that you will be advised of if your vehicle has special paint color is one that has spent a lot of time in the sun, is that there is a slight chance your paint may not match perfectly

In situations like this, any good body shop will “blend” the paint and with adjacent areas.

What this technique does is fade in or feather the paint over the adjacent areas so that there is not a clear line between the old paint and the new paint. This is very common in most body shops and a good paint technician can fade in your paint so that the untrained eye will not be able to discern where the old paint began and the new paint started.

When choosing a body shop or doing any small amount of paint repair yourself, it is important to keep in mind the fading problem, and the reality that paint is made in batches, and sometimes those batches vary from lot to lot. This is especially common problem for people who buy touch up paint from the dealer only to find that the touch up paint is different in color than the car they own.

This again is another example of why it’s important to understand and apply when possible, the fading technique.
